    Finally!!!

Finally got the potato's planted and managed the ironing! Someone had "borrowed" my wheel barrow and broke it! I'm doing an experiment with mushrooms, I bought one of those box ones, and some mushroom spawn that I sowed into some well rotted chicken manure to see which one I get the best results from. I got the peach tree planted, the dalias and some lettuce sown. The leeks, broccolli, sprouts, cabbage and tomato's all seem to be germinating quite well, no sign of the peppers or yellow tomato's. I love spring.

    I'm not stressed!

I'm really trying not to stress out, I got rid of the cleaner, trying to be a frugal, which was great last month however now we are hitting our busiest season at work my grand total of hours put into the green house is 1, yes 1. I had 2 hours one sunday morning armed with cleaning equipment planned to get it cleaned out and my phone rang and listened to my nearly ex sister in law rant about her divorce. I could have not answered the phone, I knew who it was. My greenhouse would have been clean to get going, afterthoughts are great!
So anyway, the house resembles stig of the dumps camp, I can barely get the ironing cupboards door closed, there's things in the bathroom that speak to you and a trip to the supermarket is badly needed! Yes I'll get back on top of it and yes I can manage, the only thing I have to compromise on is my garden. I am not going to stress, I'm going to do what I can when I can.
OHH!!! We've sold the first house which is fantastic, to Nicky & Peter who both seem great. So I am to have neighbours for the first time in 5 years.

Down side to the frugal life! Its changing me!

What is the point!!!!??? I've been shrewd with my money and budgeted then Hannah comes in with her school trip to Weardale £240! I ask you where does the school get the price from? the girls are staying in a YMCA hostel!!!! Mon-Fri! There are 32 girls going thats £7680 for the week!!
    Plus
The girls go to stage school and are performing les miserables sometime soon so they are taking the cast to see the show in London with a £50  deposit each, so this week without trying its cost me £250 extra in deposits.
Normally I wouldn't have batted an eyelid, its the frugal life thats changing me, my budget has gone out of the window, I'm trying hard not to be mean, I'm going to grin and bear it.....Baring teeth

    The Frugal Life continues....

Sooo......The frugal life continues....I'm driving my family nuts. Lauren (13) rolls her eyes at me just hoping that I will grow out of it soon! On Saturday I managed to spend only £13.50 on dinner for four, which included desert. I made a couple of flans, of which weren't eaten by Sunday went back to the ducks. I'm proud of myself, I refrained from socialising on Saturday/Sunday night which saved some money and time as I'm really thinking about how to get the polytunnel up and running for the middle of Feb. Plans to be revealed soon. Hannah's hockey match tonight, she may be only 4ft something but Hannah running toward me with a big stick would scare me, I hope the other team are prepared. Got some great tips on potato's from allotments 4 you, and actually found a local potato day for Feb 2nd! I'm going to refrain from buying untill I go to this! I didn't even know potato days exsisted. I cannot be frugal with shampoo or conditioner!

    The Frugal Life

Through a friend I was given a link to an amazing space http://frugal-life.spaces.live.com/default.aspx. Worryingly, I worked out that since October I had saved £560 on hairdressing bills alone, but the only reason I have saved that money is I changed onto a different job and I need to be in the office. This along with other things I've read today means I am now on a mission. I know I can have treats when I want them which puts me in a very lucky place compared to some people. BUT I am not going to have those treats!I can be very wasteful, over indulgent (look at my waist) and too generous. My children don't understand the word 'No' and that's my fault. I am going change my ways. I need to do a grocery shop, and I'm starting with that, my normal weekly shop is around £150. Also, I have a cleaner who comes 3 times a week, I don't need this luxury! Actually in the summer I do need her last year I worked 5ish to 7ish. This year I know I won't be doing those hours. What am I frightened of? Having dirty windows!!! I'm sure I could manage. Its quite distressing when I think how much money I waste and how hard I have to work to make it in the first place

    Hannah's Birthday

Hannah's birthday today, we were woken up in the middle of the night (lol, it was well after 6) . Spent nearly a hour trying to get the music to download on here, then give up, I can't justify that much time. Oh, got about 10 applicants for the personal assistants job, do p.a.'s clean cars? I wonder?!

    Allotment.Plan to cope

I've had a look about at allotments. I've came up with a plan of action. I need a good irrigation system in. I need to write a list of everything we like as a family and grow that. I'm going to draw a plan and stick to it! I need a 50m extension cable to get over to the plot from the house so I can do a few hours after work when its getting dark.

Nearly there!!! I swear after the last 2 I'm never coming out of my greenhouse again!

I've promised myself to try and do a blog everyday. I do so much that I forget what, where and when. Oh, started a diet yesterday, not about what weight to lose but I really want to get into some jeans I bought.....even I'm smiling as I'm typing, lol.
The first 2 houses are nearly finished. All the ducks are laying so I'm recording eggs to try and predict the next moult, but my beautiful turf and pond is like a huge sludge fest. I should have put more paving down. My greenhouse and tunnel are looking a bit sad. I may have to sleep with the Boss to get another electricity supply over!!!! Ways and means girls!!!! LOL

    I have to own up

I really have to own up, I got 2 ducklings out f the incubator, one was weak and died about a week later. One was a little black fluffy thing that I saved from dying of cold, it lived in its box in the house as it was too young to put outside. Every morning I let it swim in the kitchen sink while I cleaned its box. One morning I forgot it was swimming and I sat down to watch the news with my coffee. The duckling drown itself in the kitchen sink.......Confused!!!!

Can't believe how fast the year is going

I can't beleive how fast this year is disappearing. Another mad one for me. The barn conversions are nearly complete, I've adopted some geese after my eggs failed to hatch. Went to see the pigeon detectives last night, first half was a little boring mostly because I didn't know any of the songs, but the second half, WOW! Had a slight hangover this morning that I'm guessing because I was dehydrated, I've never jumped about like that for years!! Sore throat from singing! YEP I KNOW HOW OLD I AM!!! Early night for the old hag me thinks.

    Garden Pictures

    Check out the progress!!!! LMAO

    Egg update

The eggs are wobbling, which I think is a good sign, they are due to stop being turned on Tuesday and are due to hatch next Friday.
The humidity in the incubator is a little unstable.

    WE HAVE SWANS!!!!

We have some swans on the pond, its pretty amazing that something that we did to prevent flooding can substain so much wildlife. I hope they breed!!
